Mellow Yellow Flowers For Monday Morning

Flowers always brighten up my day, whether they’re real or just in photos. One of the restaurants downtown has these amazing flower boxes on the sides of their patio. Not only do they give the diners a little privacy, but they brighten up the whole street too!

A Profusion of Weeds

When we went on our walk through the park I noticed that there seems to be a lot more goldenrod than usual this year.

It’s amazing to me how much havoc one plant can wreak for people who do suffer from allergies. I’ve always liked the way it looks and am very grateful that I don’t have any allergies.

I’ve walked past this spot at least twice a week for the last ten years, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen these bushes in full bloom. It never ceases to amaze me what I notice when I’m really paying attention instead of wandering around with my mind on a million other things. :)

I’m starting to feel the coming of spring. I could swear when I was out walking on the weekend, I could smell spring in the air. (Even though as I say this the weather channel is telling me to get ready for more snow!)

These shots are from last summer, but I just felt the need for some greenery today to celebrate the new season that I know is just around the corner!

Looking Forward, Looking Back

As it’s getting down to the end of the year, many people, me included, are looking back at 2009 and all we’ve accomplished (or not) and at the same time looking forward to the new year with all it’s promises and possibilities.

Today’s photos are from April 2009, and even though I try my best to always live in the moment, on a grey day like today I can’t help but look back to the spring that was and remind myself that soon I’ll have it all to look forward to again.
