It’s been a couple of days since I posted anything. I don’t think I’ve missed two days in a row since before Christmas, but I ended up with a wicked sinus cold that doesn’t want to go away.

I’m not sure it’s a coincidence that it arrived on the same day as my first foray into a drinking establishment in over ten years. :) I will say, however, that seeing Deric Ruttan live was totally worth breaking my decade-long hermit ways for. And bein’ in a honky-tonk brought back a lot of memories. :)

Anyways, on to the photos… I took these when I was out and about on Saturday specifically for Mary’s Ruby Tuesday so there was no way I was gonna miss posting them.

I’ve been moaning rather repeatedly around the house about not having gotten any Olympic memorabilia this year, and with the start of the games just around the corner almost everything is sold out. What I really wanted was a pair of red mittens but I think that boat has sailed long ago. So anyways, to make a long story short, my son went out to get snacks late Saturday night, and came back with this surprise gift for me.

So now I not only have my little piece of Olympic memorabilia, I also have something nice and colourful to share for Mellow Yellow Monday, Ruby Tuesday, and the Color Carnival.

I don’t do much decorating for Christmas usually, but visiting everyone’s blogs over the past two weeks has got me more in the spirit to actually put some decorations up this year. So we finally got started with my little Santa tree this evening:

I still have to string the ornaments and get them added, and no the tinsel didn’t stay that way. My son said it made Santa look way too much like Cousin It. :)
