Snowy Sunday Afternoon

So I had this other post all ready to go with more archived shots this morning when my son suggested getting out of the house for awhile. We ended up at the zoo wandering around in the snow for an hour and it was a really nice afternoon. These are straight out of the camera, as you can see. At some point I’ll take the time to try and remove the fence lines, but not today. :)

Awesome shots. I live between San Diego and Los Angeles, so our zoos never get snow. They have to truck it in.

I’ll gladly truck you some of mine. :) Seriously though, as much as I like to complain about it, I really don’t think I could live without snow for any length of time.

I have never been to the zoo in winter. That looks like a great idea! I love the cat shot!

Thanks Carol! It was a lot of fun. I think we’re actually going to go back next weekend when we can stay a little longer. We didn’t even get near the trails that run down by the river.

Did the camel say that it is belonged to the desert. It is feeling cold.

I was surprised actually at how thick his coat was. I think he was probably a lot warmer out there than we were. :)

Oh, the fence removal thing is way too much trouble. They are great the way they are. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Sara! That makes me feel better. :)

That poor camel! All that lovely snow and he/she would probably rather be in a tropical climate. Looks like it was a fun day.

Hi Leora! Thanks, it was a really fun day. :)

About the camel, I actually thought that too until I did a little research on him and found out that he is of the breed of camels that come from the Gobi desert and so is used to the extreme temperatures, both summer and winter.

I’m surprised to see the camel out in the snow…but now that I think of it I have seen photos of camels in the Cariboo region of British Columbia, Canada.
