Looking Forward, Looking Back

As it’s getting down to the end of the year, many people, me included, are looking back at 2009 and all we’ve accomplished (or not) and at the same time looking forward to the new year with all it’s promises and possibilities.

Today’s photos are from April 2009, and even though I try my best to always live in the moment, on a grey day like today I can’t help but look back to the spring that was and remind myself that soon I’ll have it all to look forward to again.

I’m already looking forward to the spring flowers. I planted Princess Irene tulips earlier this year in memory of my beloved dog (named Irene, or ‘Renie’, nicknamed ‘the Princess’) and I’m so looking forward to seeing them bloom. I also have a Renie’s Delight daylily which has yet to bloom, and a Captain Jack Sparrow rhododendron in memory of another beloved dog, lost five weeks after Renie.

Better to live in the future than in the past, I think, especially when the past brings tears. And I love your photos – a real vision of the future, and a hopeful one, too. :)

I love daffodils. They are one of my favorites and nice to see them pop up first in the spring.

A lot of people wish for Winter to end so they can see the beginning of Spring again – and their flowers blooming, of course. But I only know that through blogs. We don’t have Winter here. LOL!

I love really bright and yellow flowers, thanks for sharing!

    Much Love,
