    • ]]>     One of our favorite ways to spend family time is to get up early on the weekends and watch F1 together. So it was a real treat last week to be able to actually see an F1 car closeup and in person.

    The other car they had was an IRL car from 2005. That’s not a series I watch much other than the Indy 500, which is coming up soon. :)

    • ]]>     I’ve walked past this spot at least twice a week for the last ten years, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen these bushes in full bloom. It never ceases to amaze me what I notice when I’m really paying attention instead of wandering around with my mind on a million other things. :)

    • ]]>     It’s amazing what you can see around here when you get up early enough. In addition to the amazing stillness of the water, which made for great reflections of the Hunter Street Bridge…

    you can imagine my surprise when this little critter came swimming by…

    He was moving at a pretty fast clip so I wasn’t able to get a very good shot of him, so here’s a cropped version of another shot which was the best one of the bunch for a closeup…

    I was really excited to watch him swimming along. It was the first time in my life I’ve ever seen a beaver swimming in the wild. The only place I’ve ever seen them until now was in a zoo.

    All in all, a very cool morning. :)

    It’s no secret that I love water, both real and in pictures. So I was thrilled when, on our walk on Friday afternoon, my son asked for the camera and proceeded to wade out into the middle of the creek to get me some good close up pictures of the flow.
